Bri Lewerke

Bri grew up in Mason City, Iowa – about 30 minutes south of the Minnesota border. She loved playing from age of 3 when she started playing basketball until she stopped after High School. She also loved watching the game; growing up in a small town, she didn’t have access to a lot of sports events outside of high school. She attended the University of Northern Iowa from 2012-2016, where she studied Business Communications, Public Relations, and Marketing. She began working summers full time at John Deere her sophomore year of college and soon realized a desk job wasn’t for her. Her junior summer she landed an internship with the Washington Wizards and moved to DC her senior year.

She knew when she moved back to Iowa she could never not work in sports again., however, she wanted to try a different segment than a team. She landed an internship with SportsEngine, a sports technology company in Minneapolis, MN, a month before graduating from UNI. From April 2016 to October 2016, she worked part-time at SportsEngine during the day and as a massage receptionist at night, until she landed a full-time Business Development Specialist job at SportsEngine on Halloween 2016.

Bri mainly focuses on D1Circuit, a coverage website and social media entity covering the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League. She is a photographer, an interviewer, and a social media/ content producer all at once for the summer season. She also is an event coordinator and website designer for the Prep Hoops Series tournaments this spring. Bri also designs websites and helps with content for many basketball programs on the SportsEngine platform- such as Huntington Prep, Oak Hill, Findlay Prep, amongst others. Bri has designed multiple preview and coverage magazines for the EYBL and High School basketball seasons. Bri runs the entire @D1Circuit Instagram on her own, with producing the content, taking the photos, and designing.

Outside of her full-time job, Bri is the Social Media Director for Hoops and Christ, a basketball training organization focused on the person over the player. She is the main photographer and produces a lot of online content. She also freelances for Angel Sports and Entertainment, a new Sports Agency in the basketball market.

In her free time, Bri loves to watch the NBA, College Basketball, and the NFL when the Vikings are doing well. She also loves to eat at new restaurants, take photos, and advocate for women in sports.
