Kendal Shell

Kendal Shell grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. Shell grew up in a Christian household under the guidance of his two parents, Gloria and William. Shell began playing basketball when he was three years old and was taught the ropes by his two older brothers, William and Shaun.

Shell was an all-conference basketball and baseball player coming out of Webster Groves high school. He played basketball under the leadership of two-time state champion coach, Jay Blossom. Shell credits his passion and energy for the game to Blossom.


Shell was recruited as a preferred walk-on to play at the University of Minnesota in the Big Ten for Hall of Fame coach Tubby Smith. Shell later earned a scholarship to play for the Gophers and finished his career under Richard Pitino. While playing for the Gophers, Shell appeared in 1 NCAA tournament and 2 NIT tournaments. Walking away with 1 NIT tournament championship. Shell finished his career at The University of Minnesota with a degree in Business marketing and minors in Leadership and Sports Management.

Shell began his pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Sports Management during his senior year at the U. Shell was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) beginning in elementary school and continuing it throughout his college career. During that time, he spearheaded several Bible study groups for his basketball team and other Gopher athletes. Shell has a passion for sports management and Faith. This along with his love and ability to interact with people from all walks of life has led him onto this journey.
